We officially opened on Sunday, May 31; the river was a bit too high to encourage kayakers to get on the river but we had a few takers for the Lake Trip. The day gave our team some time to practice our new disinfectant protocols. We are also wearing masks inside our “Kayak Barn” to ensure everyone in comfortable when they come to sign in for the trips.
The Kalamazoo River is a watershed for S.W. Michigan and flows to Lake Michigan. It is always amazing to me how quickly the river levels go down after big rains such as those we had in late May. This stretch of the river is truly amazing! Call us to check on our trips and don’t assume the river is too high as many area lakes and stream don’t recede as quickly.
This is our fourth year and we couldn’t be more excited with the interest you have shown. We have several new team members who are catching on quickly. The area teens that we employ are terrific and grow to love those of you who want to learn about our business and the river. Here’s to a safe and successful 2020!
